2025 - This series is an exercise in surrendered agency. The process maps an image genealogy where the artist’s authority ends and a synthetic consciousness takes over—a neural architecture grown from the sum of human data, not built by logic. Each work begins with an analog photograph captured on film. This physical record is "viewed" and described by a Large Language Model; that machine-authored text is then used verbatim as a prompt to generate "synthetic descendants." By pairing these with the original, the work documents what remains after the human hand is replaced by an algorithmic translation. Born of an idea and a practice created by close friend and gallerist, David W Hanson, this series was created for an exhibition at Gallery 361 in Los Angeles.
